There is atmosphere and life in the old village, when about a hundred volunteer children and adults put on time typically peasant clothing and bring life to houses and workshops. Come and see, feel, smell and taste the ancient traditions - get the feeling of life as it was some 100-200 years ago. There are up to 33 different things one can experience or see throughout the whole evocation, however, not all workshops are populated every day.
Through the many involving activities brought to life you and your family will gain insight into the peasant culture and its life conditions, handicraft traditions and customs.
Especially for children
For children there are a number of fun activities during the summer. For example try:
· a school hour in the old school (additional price for schoolbook and pencil: 40 Dkr)
· Stone Age activities where you can grind grain into flour and create jewelry or make arrows.
· the historical playground where you can compete in boot throwing, penny-farthing race or ”go to Iceland for fish” and much more.
· In the historical playroom, children can dress up in old-fashioned clothes and go with bazaar clogs. Or try to lie down in an alcove and see how people slept back in the old days.
Food and drink
Bring a picnic basket and eat in the picnic houses or visit the Skyttegaarden restaurant and have a great day out for the enjoyment of the whole family.
