Toll house

The tollhouse from the eastern part of Jutland. A Royal Decree of 15 February 1786 under the aegis of King Christian the Seventh ruled that tolls were to be levied on the recently constructed highways.

Accordingly, throughout the country tollhouses were built from which the new tolls would be exacted.
