With its slender timber frame, this farmhouse is typical of moorland farms.
The house is from a farm which was moved out into the fields at Kvosted between Skive and Viborg in the early 1800s. The rare mud-built chimney was moved to the museum in one piece. The chimney did not pass through the roof, the smoke escaping through a louvre. The stove, the box beds and most of the contents originate from the farmhouse itself or from the neighbourhood.
It was common for people in many poor areas to have a second source of income, e.g. by making black pots. Behind the farmhouse is a storage shed which was used for smoking and drying pots before firing.
