The fire engine shed was built in Tybjerg on Zealand around 1860.
The responsibility for maintaining a fire pump passed by an act of parliament in 1861 from home farm owners to municipalities, and engine sheds were built in many villages.
The shed houses the old horse-drawn hand-operated pump from Tybjerg. The pump dates back to about 1865-70 and required two men to operate.
