The bakery was originally situated in the village of Ravnkilde in Himmerland. The building dates back to 1882. It is brick-built with a brick foundation. The bakery is a typical country bakery from the early 1930s. The main product was rye bread, which was carried around to the local farms in a horse-drawn cart.
The baker’s cart from Ravnkilde now does its rounds of Den Gamle Landsby in summer. The building’s interior is dominated by the large tube furnace from Strømmen in Randers. There is also a stokehold and two storage rooms. The larger storeroom was used for storing raw materials, the smaller for storing the ready-baked loaves.
