Forestry museum

In 1964 a new part of Hjerl Hede was begon, that is the Forestry Museum. One of the visions were to show the path of the trees, from sprouting in the nursery to the processing of the large logs in the steam-sawmill.

A nursery was made where the tree seeds are sowed, and after a year or two they are pricked out by the use of old fashioned tools.

Nearby it is shown which tools and machines were used to plant out 3 and 4 year old trees. Finally you can see, how the trees are sown into timber at the steamsaw-mill.

In the area there are a collection of buildings that are characteristic for Jutlandic forestry, and in addition a large collection of forest tools.
